I Have Been Down For Last Three Days And Here’s What I’ve Learned

The weather has started taking turns here in Pakistan. And for a reason, it isn’t treating me well. With a sore throat, cough, and flu, I almost lost my voice. This happens to me each time every year. Change is literally very hard on me, no matter what. Despite knowing the fact, I catch a cold. And this isn’t just it; I also got my stomach upset very badly. The purpose of penning it is not just the rant; I am doing it for my own record (maybe). Though my body was not getting in sync, I knew of all this shall pass. I had to watch, observe, and learn the behaviors of people around me during these hard times. And that I did finely, I guess. Here I must say that adulating makes the reveals really ugly. Ain’t it?

Through the entire suffering, I have learned a few lessons as listed below:

1. You Have To Fight Your Own Battles

When I am not well, it is my pain and I have to bear through it. No one can do nothing. Since I am an independent adult and not a kid anymore, I have to help myself. Little chores which I perform on regular basis don’t know no compromises. Composing oneself is a task for someone like me who is homey for one and all.

2. No One Is Coming To Rescue/Save You

In my story, I am my own super hero. I must never rely on someone else to come and rescue me in any situation (if, however, they radiate some true vibes). I am the one who lifts up, cheer up, and calms down myself. People are only beneficial till their own advantage. And when you don’t let them take over you, they leave you as is in times they are needed the most. That’s the bitter reality of this world.

3. Difficult Times Show True Colors

No matter how grateful they have been for your help to them once, their true colors are only seen when a pay-off time comes over. Most of the times, no one shows up (With saying that, I must hop over to point # 2 here). You learn a lot with people’s behaviors and actions — as they speak louder than their words.

That’s it from today’s story. Follow for more raw and relatable ramblings.
